The Earlab is a computationally oriented experimental laboratory. We are interested in the encoding of auditory information in the cerebral cortex and brainstem, and in the mechanisms of tinnitus and the effect of various drugs (Lidocaine, steroids, anti-oxidants) in relieving noise trauma induced tinnitus. Through chronic implants preparations, we obtain electrophysiological data from awake animals in order to investigate the reponse properties and functional organization of the auditory system.

We are affiliated with the Institute for Systems Research and the BioEngineering department at the University of Maryland at College Park.
